Public Hearing for the 2025 Budget

Meeting was opened at 6:00pm. Quorum present. No public present. Meeting adjourned at 6:14 pm

Regular Meeting

Call to Order: Loretta Sutherland called the meeting to order at 6:14.  Board members in attendance were Laura Glunt, Alicia Hollingsworth, Barb Hybarger, Ruth Gerbig and Floyd Barker.  Kim Riley, Director, and Harry Mohler, Architect were also present.  Board member, Kathy Bray was absent.

 

Call for Quorum: Quorum was met.  

 

Unfinished Business

  1. Bond issue – Harry received a bid to survey the new land and was asked to proceed.

 

Reading and Approval of Minutes – Minutes for the July meeting stand approved as corrected.

 

Reading and Approval of Financial Report – Receipts – $24,425.93

Vouchers – $26,226.09

 

Approval of Bills: Barb moved to approve the bills, Alicia seconded the motion.  Motion passed.

 

Report of the Director

  1. Programming updates – Programing report will be attached. There will be a concert by the Bray Brothers on Sept. 21st. Elissa’s first 2 programs were a success.
  2. Attended meetings – Kim attended 1 town council meeting, 1 Reorganization budget workshop, 1 Hamilton County Director meeting, 1 Dolly Parton Imagination Library meeting, 1 meeting with Harry and 1 Patron Services committee meeting. Also ran bingo, the concert and author visit.  Would like to start working on hiring someone as a Library assistant for Adult programing/Children’s programming assistant.
  3. Acquisitions: 280 items were added to our collection in July. 3268 physical items circulated along with 1133 electronic items.  23 new cards were issued.

Communications – None

New Business –
a. Internet Acceptable Use policy review – There are no changes for this annual review.  Ruth
motioned that we accept the policy.  Barb seconded.  Motion passed.
b. PERF – Ruth made a motion is enlarge the PERF to include the Marketing Director.  Laura    seconded.  Motion passed.  Kim will complete the paperwork and send it in so that it will be   effective January 1, 2025.
c. Kathy had asked that we keep an eye on the Hamilton County Sexual Offender list and see what
rules applies to libraries.  Kim looked into this but will report back next month.  She is regularly           checking the list.
