Board of Trustees

Regular Monthly Meeting Monday October 13, 2025 6:00pm

 

 

Call to Order

Loretta Sutherland called to order at 6:01 PM. Board members: Floyd Barker, Laura Glunt, Barbara Hybarger, Alicia Burnell, and Ruth Gerbig were all present. Kathy Bray was absent. Library Director, Kim Riley, was also in attendance.

 

Call for Quorum

Quorum was met.

 

Unfinished Business

  1. Building Project Update
    1. Bond has been approved. We will receive the funds Oct. 30, 2025
    2. Matt Lenseigne is to be removed from our bank accounts as he is no longer on the board.

 

  1. Architect discussion
    1. Discussions about whoever the library goes with needs to be screened via references.
    2. A motion was made to proceed with Odle McGuire Shook as the project firm with the contingency of positive feedback from references and review of the contract; any negative responses deemed by the Library Director, Kim Riley, would move the board to go with Luminaut was made by Ruth Gerbig and seconded by Floyd Barker. Motion passed.

 

Reading and Approval of Minutes:
Minutes stand approved as read.

 

Reading and Approval of Financial Report:

Receipts: $27,608.31                   Vouchers: $41,771.46

 

Approval of Bills:    

Motion was made by Ruth Gerbig and seconded by Alicia Burnell. Motion passed.

 

Report of the Director
a. Programming updates – Programming report is attached.

  1. Attended meetings – Town Council (2); LEU webinars (1); Hamilton County Directors meeting (1);   meeting with bond team (1); meeting with potential architects (3); Town of Sheridan focus group meeting (1).
  2. Acquisitions: 125 items added; 2715 physical items circulated & 1391 electronic items. 25 new cards issued.
    d. Other:
  3. Budget has been approved by the town and will now go to the DLGF.
  4. A motion was made by Ruth Gerbig to reappoint Kim Hogge as the library’s representative for the park board and seconded by Barbara Hybarger. Motion passed.
  5. Monday, December 1st the library will be closing early at 5:30 PM for the staff Christmas dinner.
