Board of Trustees

Regular Monthly Meeting Monday May 9, 2022

 

 

Call to Order: Loretta Sutherland, President, called the meeting to order at 6:05pm. Board members in attendance were Loretta Sutherland, DeeDee Feeney, Ruth Gerbig, and Floyd Barker.  Others in attendance were Kim Riley, the library director and Harry Mohler the architect from Mohler Architectures, P.C. Those not in attendance were Laura Glunt, Alicia Hollingsworth and Kathy Bray.

 

Call for Quorum: Quorum was met as noted above.

 

Presentation by architect Harry Mohler from Mohler Architecture, P.C.

 

Reading and Approval of Minutes: Minutes approved as read.

 

Reading and Approval of Financial Report: Receipts $18,082.47, Claims; $28,901.81

 

Approval of Bills: Motion to approve the financial report was made by Ruth and 2nd by Floyd.  Motion approved.  

 

Report of the Director

  1. Maintenance issues: Gutters and fascia down, will cost about $1000 to fix.
  2. Programming updates: Programs update will be added to the minutes as an attachment. Preregistration for summer reading program is now underway.  Sponsors from Penn Station and Titus added to the summer reading list.
  3. Other: Kim has been advertising for the Programing Director’s position.

We have a clerk position to be filled. This position needs to be advertised.

Communications: None

 

Old Business:

  1. Bond issue: nothing more

 

 

  1. Land: FourStar will be sending us a purchase agreement to be signed. Motion to approve the purchase of the land for 1.35 acres for $35,775.00 and to be approved by the library boards lawyers and for the library board president to sign if need be before the next board meeting was made by Floyd and 2nd by DeeDee. Motion carried.
  2. Hoopla – tabled for more research

 

New Business: Selection of Architect: Floyd moved that we sign Mohler Architects for our upcoming project.  Ruth 2nd the motion.  Motion passed.
