Board of Trustees

Regular Monthly Meeting Monday, April 13, 2026

 

 

Call to Order

Ruth Gerbig called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM. Board members Floyd Barker, Laura Glunt, Ruth Gerbig, and Alicia Burnell were all present. Library Director, Kim Riley, was also present. Board President Loretta Sutherland and members Barbara Hybarger and Kathy Bray were absent.

 

Call for Quorum

Quorum was met.

 

Unfinished Business

  1. Building Project Update

              – Construction should begin May 5th with the movers coming on May 1st.

 

  1. Personnel Policy updates

              – A motion was made by Floyd Barker to approve the amended personnel policy as presented and seconded by Laura Glunt. Motion passed.

 

Reading and Approval of Minutes

Minutes stand approved

Reading and Approval of Financial Report  

Operating:        R: $36,349.41     V: $29,081.67

Construction:   R: $0.35              V: $18,457.50

Total:                 R: $36,349.76     V: $47,539.17

 

Approval of Bills    

A motion was made by Alicia Burnell and seconded by Laura Glunt. Motion passed.

 

Report of the Director
a. Programming updates – see updates.

  1. b. Attended meetings – Town Council (2); LEU webinars (2 hours); Hamilton County Directors

meeting (1); meeting with Matt Mayol &/or team (16.75 hours); meeting with Mike Reuter (1 hour)

  1. c. Acquisitions: 113 items added; 3014 physical items circulated & 1335 electronic
    27 new cards issued.
  2. Mike Reuter

              – He will be advising the Sheridan Public Library from here on out.  Kim will ask him to attend the

July meeting to meet and update the board.

  1. Annual Report 2025 – Has been submitted to the State.

– Counting Opinions helped create an annual report for 2025 that outlined all the numbers in a colorful presentation.

 

   

Communications:
    None

New Business:

  1. Criminal History Check policy review
    1. A motion was made by Alicia Burnell and seconded by Floyd Barker to approve the Criminal History Check policy review. Motion passed.
    2. We will discuss the fines & fees policy later this summer. Be thinking about updates.
