Board of Trustees

Regular Monthly Meeting Monday April 10, 2023 6pm

 

 

Call to Order: Loretta Sotherland called the meeting to order at 6:03. Board members in attendance were Alicia Hollingsworth, Floyd Barker, Ruth Gerbig, Kathy Bray and DeeDee Feeney, Laura Glunt was not in attendance. Library Director Kim Riley and Architect Harry Mohler were also present.

 

Call for Quorum: Quorum was met

 

Unfinished Business

  1. Land – Nothing new on the land.
  2. Bond issue – (Harry) – Harry presented what he found out from Eric Gleissner with Civil Site about the storm drainage and the fire code. Harry talked to the fire chief today.  Nothing was gained from the talk.  1st public listening session is scheduled for Thursday April 13th at 6pm here at the library.

 

Reading and Approval of Minutes – Minutes were read and approved.

 

Reading and Approval of Financial Report: Receipts – 20,872.64    Claims – 25,463.28

 

Approval of Bills: Moved by Kathy and seconded by Ruth – bills approved

 

Report of the Director

Programming updates – Programing will be attached to these minutes.

  • Easter Bunny had 75 children.
  • Bicentennial reading challenged had one more completed.
  • May 4th we will have a program for the Bicentennial. This will take place at the Elementary School during the day with a program here at the library that evening.  It is paid for through a grant.
  • Summer reading will be running May 31- July 15th.

Other –

  • Marion Township has still not returned the fee for their participation in the library.
  • Closed tomorrow for staff development and food pack. (64 volunteers)
  • Internal Controls Policy – DeeDee made a motion to approve the internal Controls Policy and was seconded by Alicia. Motion was carried.

 

Communications – No communications
