Regular Monthly Meeting Monday June 9, 2025 6:00pm

 

 

Call to Order

Loretta called the meeting to order at 6:03 PM. Board members in attendance: Loretta Sutherland, Ruth Gerbig, Floyd Barker, Barb Hybarger, and Alicia Burnell. Kim Riley, Director, was also present. Laura Glunt and Kathy Bray were absent.

 

Call for Quorum

Quorum was met.

 

Unfinished Business

  1. Building Project Update – Rezone (5-20) & Council approval (6-17)
    1. Council approval has been moved to 6/17.
    2. Has pushed everything about a month.
  2. Wish list discussion
    1. 1st quote for audio/visual $23,000 for the board room and $40,000 for the community room.
    2. 2nd quote was $8,400 for the board room and $29,000 for the community room.

 

 

Reading and Approval of Minutes

Minutes stand approved as read.

 

Reading and Approval of Financial Report  

Receipts: $116,002.76                 Vouchers: $35,785.82

 

Approval of Bills    

Motion was moved by Ruth Gerbig and seconded by Floyd Barker to approve the financial report. Motion passed.

 

Report of the Director
a. Programming updates – Programming report. Summer reading update.

– Foam party had 170 attendees.

– Over 200 people have signed up for the summer reading program.

  1. Attended meetings – Town Council (2); LEU webinars (1 hours); Hamilton County
    Directors meeting (1); Central Indiana Directors meeting (1); meeting for audio/visual
    estimate; meeting with bond team (1); full day budget workshop (1).
  2. Acquisitions: 128 items added; 2716 physical items circulated & 1362 electronic
    items. 24 new cards issued.
    d. Other –     DPIL update; Supplemental LIT $41,231

– Hamilton County Council approved funding for 3 years.

– July 1st is our soft launch – sign ups are available.

  

 

Communications
– Planting a tree in Patty Barker’s honor from the Girl’s Night Out group.

 

New Business

  1. Kim Riley’s evaluation is due before July 1st.
  2. Executive session will be held Monday, July 14th, 2025 at 5:30 PM.
