Board of Trustees

Regular Monthly Meeting Monday May 12, 2025 6:00pm

 

 

Call to Order

Loretta called the meeting to order at 6 PM. Board members in attendance: Loretta Sutherland, Barb Hybarger, Kathy Bray, Floyd Barker, Ruth Gerbig, and Alicia Burnell. Kim Riley, Director, was also present. Laura Glunt was absent.

 

Call for Quorum

Quorum was met.

 

Unfinished Business

  1. Building Project Update – Rezone & Council introduction
    1. Rezone will be presented to the Planning Commission on Thursday, May 15th for approval.
    2. Kim made the Council introduction last week to the Town Council of our upcoming bond request.
  2. Wish list discussion
    1. Outdoor pavilion is seen as a low want/not needed.
    2. Adding a wireless internet connector would benefit the northern side of the library for the small study rooms.
    3. Kim has not received the numbers for estimates of audio/visuals.

 

 

Reading and Approval of Minutes

Minutes stand approved as read.

 

Reading and Approval of Financial Report

              Receipts: $42,069.45                   Vouchers: $60,840.47

 

Approval of Bills    

Motion was made by Ruth Gerbig and seconded by Kathy Bray to approve the Financial Report. Motion passed.

 

Report of the Director
a. Programming updates – Programming report. Summer Reading video. The biggest event was the Easter Egg Hunt (350).
b. Attended meetings – Town Council (2); LEU webinars (1 hours); Hamilton County
Directors meeting (1); Patron Services committee meeting (1); Evergreen Indiana Annual

Council meeting (1); meeting for audio/visual estimate; meeting for self-service copy machine

(2); meeting with other bookkeepers on SB1; meeting with 3 Town Councilmen;

  1. Acquisitions: 148 items added; 2771 physical items circulated & 1216 electronic
    items. 19 new cards issued.
    d. Other – DPIL update

Next update could be in June. Sheridan, along with four other libraries in the area, are grouped together for the DPIL. Sheridan’s responsibility will be signing students up, retrieving books, promoting, etc.
