Call to Order: Loretta Sutherland called the meeting to order at 6:00. Board members in attendance were Ruth Gerbig, Kathy Bray, Laura Glunt, and Alicia Hollingsworth. Kim Riley, Director was also present. Board members Barbara Hybarger and Floyd Barker were absent.
Call for Quorum: Quorum was met.
Unfinished Business
- Land – We closed on the land on May 22, 2024!
- Bond issue – Tabled
Reading and Approval of Minutes – Minutes for the May meeting stand approved as read.
Reading and Approval of Financial Report – Receipts – $167,282.52
Vouchers – $63,728.87
Approval of Bills: Kathy moved to approve the bills, Ruth seconded the motion. Motion passed.
Report of the Director
- Programming updates – Programing report will be attached. Summer reading started May 29th with a Foam Party for the kick-off with approximately 100 people attending. On the first day we had 128 patrons signed up. Summer reading is open to all ages. Lilly Rose will be here on June 21st for our 1st concert of the summer. We will also have a food truck present.
- Attended meetings – Kim attended 1 town council meeting, 0 reorganization meetings, completed 4 hour of continuing ed webinars, and attended the groundbreaking for the Monon.
- Acquisitions: 207 items added to our collection in May. 2701 physical items circulated along with 1200 electronic items. 28 new cards were issued.
- Other – 1) We received a supplemental LIT distribution of $66,917.
Communications – None
New Business –
1) Brian Bragg from Kiwanis presented a check for $500 to the library from their pancake breakfast fundraiser.
2) Ruth made a motion to give Kim Riley, Director, a 3.5% raise for 2024. Alicia seconded. Motion passed.
